KYLE BRIER
ARTIST BIO
Kyle Brier (b. 1999) is a composer, pianist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer. His work has been featured in studio films, Netflix and NBC-produced TV shows, independent short films, theater, and dance performances. A song that Kyle produced received a 2024 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music.
A classically trained pianist and graduate of Brown University’s music program, Kyle brings a holistic understanding of music history, theory and technique to his compositional and production practices. His style draws inspiration from the great composers of the Romantic and Impressionist eras, American and Irish folk, and the mid-20th century pioneers of electronic music. Employing field recordings, lush vocal harmonies, complex pianistic gestures, and intricate analog synthesizer work, his work connects the modern to the natural, the ancient to the synthetic. It is through these sonic intersections that Kyle’s music reflects the condtradictions that surround us; the confluence of overwhelming grief and boundless beauty that defines modern life.
A lover of all forms and aspects of music creation, he has also worked as a music director, orchestrator, arranger and transcriber for high-profile theatrical and film/TV projects. Always handling this work with a caring hand and a genuine love for the craft, he is adept at bringing others’ music, as well as his own, to life.
He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
